Women & Money – from the Artist’s Perspective

Kansas City Bandit

Kansas City Bandit

Sum sum summertime is here! Boy, the time sure has flown since my last blog post!
Good ol’ “Banksters” had a great run at the Highland Art Center. I enjoyed wonderful attendance at both of my openings and artist talk, great sales (thanks everyone!), and garnered some nice press about the exhibit.
What’s next? Well, it’s on to San Francisco! I’m honored and excited that three of my paintings – Church Lady Bandit, Kansas City Bandit (my personal fave), and Girl Bandit – have been selected to be a part of “Women & Money – from the Artist’s Perspective,” a juried exhibit sponsored by San Francisco Women Artists and Spare Change Artist Gallery. The show runs from July 1 through August 27, 2015. The opening celebration will be held Thursday, July 16th from 6 to 8pm, and an artists’ talk is scheduled for August 27th from 6 to 8pm.
I’m very much looking forward to showing these works in San Francisco and as part of a juried exhibit. I find juried exhibits are always a lot of fun. It’s interesting to see the other works that the jurors select and how they all interact together to make one cohesive exhibit. I am particularly encouraged that not just one, but three, of my paintings were selected by juror, Pamela Rhodes, for this exhibit, which makes the long trek down from the mountains even more worthwhile.
This time, I not only left my heart, but my paintings in San Francisco! Hope to see you at the show!
